Liz Bercel, ACMHC

I am passionate about helping adolescents and adults to find their own path to healing. As a certified adventure-based counselor, I blend nature-based practices with experiential, relational, and somatically focused techniques. I believe that a trusting therapeutic relationship is essential in the healing journey, and I aim to lean on our built connection to help individuals grow.

Since 2016, I have worked extensively with adolescents and young adults in wilderness settings,
supporting clients through transformative outdoor experiences that promote resilience, insight, and emotional well-being. These experiences have shaped my belief in the power of movement,
nature, and presence as essential tools in the healing process.

Rooted in trauma-informed care, I integrate techniques backed by current neurobiological research to help clients better understand how their brain and body respond to stress, trauma, and emotional overwhelm. With a somatic focus, sessions often explore how emotions and experiences live in the body, empowering clients to build awareness, regulation, and connection from the inside out.

With a foundation in multicultural counseling, I honor each person’s unique cultural context, values, and lived experience. Therapy is shaped collaboratively, with respect, curiosity, and humility—ensuring every person feels seen, heard, and supported.

Whether through relational work, nature-based interventions, or experiential activities that build trust and rapport, I believe healing happens in relationship—with self, others, and the natural world. Rather than positioning myself as an expert, I walk alongside clients as a compassionate guide, helping them uncover their own wisdom and inner resources.

Please reach out with questions and curiosities.
